Frequent power cuts – help!
This glass manufacturer had problems with frequent power cuts. And, with a sensitive process such as glass manufacturing, fluctuating temperature, caused by a fluctuating power supply, could render an entire batch of materials unrecoverable.
Power cuts can be frequent if you are a heavy power user at great distance from the local substation. With the scheduled decommissioning of a generation of power stations in the next decade, we at JS Power expect this problem to more frequent in coming years.

Open-set diesel generator with customised exhaust
Working with the client, a leading Glass Manufacturer, we at JS Power supplied a 625kVA open-set diesel generator to provide backup in the event of a power failure. Due to the location of the plant room, noise pollution was an issue therefore a sound attenuated exhaust system was also supplied to meet the companies’ environmental limitations.
Open set generators can be provided where an external solution is not possible, perhaps due to planning difficulties for larger generators, or even due to high local crime levels.
Prior to the diesel generator being installed, the client suffered from frequent power cuts resulting in a loss of production. After generator installation, the client still suffers from frequent power failures. But now, he can maintain production.
