Fuel Polishing Service Launched
JS Power has just launched a new service for 2012.
Contamination of fuel that has been stored for prolonged periods in a bulk fuel tank is a common occurrence throughout the power generation industry.
Diesel fuel can attract water moisture from the air, and this can then condense into water droplets which can remain dispersed within the fuel or settle on the bottom of the tank.
Water in the fuel can cause significant damage to an engine and its components.
Bacteria can grow on this moisture and feeds from the hydrocarbons in the fuel itself. The waste product from this bacterial or algal growth forms sludge which can either sink to the bottom of the fuel tank or remain suspended within the fuel itself.
This does not however stop the sludge from blocking filters or causing a deterioration in the effectiveness of the fuel itself.
Blocked filters can stop a generator from starting up and running.
As this is a common problem, fuel companies are only giving up to a six month guarantee on their products when held in bulk storage.
The solution to have your fuel polished. Using our fuel polishing service, our engineers come to site and though a series of filtration techniques and water separators removes the water, harmful bacteria growth and waste.
