Data Expansion
Brief:
To supply a 1250kVA prime rated generator to synchronise with the exisiting generators on site to increase the amount of backup power available.
With the final phase to fully complete an international data centre in progress, more power was needed to keep the data centre up and running in case of a loss of the incoming mains supply.
Solution:
JS Power working with their client and suppliers designed a ‘clone’ of the existing FG Wilson Diesel generators on site which would start up on mains failure, synchronise then load share with them. Constrained with the already built sound attenuated enclosure, the generator was built to match the existing sets as far as possible, with only minor changes required due to the advance in technology.
The generator was built before under going a thorough testing programme and was then delivered to site and commissioned with the system fully proven.
